Upper El boy sin a cricle on the floor looking at clues

UE Native Plant Presentation Oct. 15 St. Joseph County Soil and Water

Our Upper Elementary students became detectives for the day on October 15th, through a hands-on program with the St. Joseph County Soil and Water Conservation District. They learned about invasive species, how they arrived in our environment, and the impact they have on native ecosystems.

Working together in a “Clue” style activity, students gathered evidence, analyzed clues, and uncovered which invasive species “committed the crime.” It was an engaging way to combine science, problem solving, and teamwork while deepening their understanding of local conservation efforts.

Thank you to the St. Joseph County SWCD for bringing this interactive lesson to life and inspiring our students to protect the world around them.
