severe weather drill

Dear TMA Families,

Today our school community practiced a storm/severe weather drill as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and preparedness. These drills help ensure that our students and staff understand the procedures that keep everyone safe during severe weather.

This drill also coincides with Indiana Severe Weather Preparedness Week, which has been officially designated by the Governor of Indiana to encourage schools, families, and communities across the state to review safety procedures and practice emergency readiness.

In the event that we experience actual severe weather, we will send out a text alert to families.

If a real severe weather situation occurs, please do not come to school to pick up your child during the storm. During these events, the safest course of action is for everyone on campus to shelter in place in designated safe areas.

Once the storm has passed and it is safe to do so, we will communicate with families regarding when normal activities resume or when children may be picked up.

If you have concerns during a weather event, you may text me directly, and I will respond as soon as I am able.

Supporting Our Michigan Neighbors

Many communities just north of us in Michigan were impacted by last week’s tornadoes. In the spirit of community and service, we will be collecting donations to help support families who are recovering from the storm.

If you would like to help, we are accepting the following items:

  • Bottled water

  • Disposable utensils

  • Disposable bowls and plates

  • Gift cards to big box stores (such as Walmart, Target, Meijer, etc.)

We will be delivering these donations to the Edwardsburg VFW and Edwardsburg Schools, as well as any other designated local organizations coordinating relief efforts.

If you are able to contribute, please send donations to the school office by this Friday, March 13.

Thank you for helping us model compassion, service, and community care for our students.

Warmly,

Kathy
