Our Upper Elementary 6th years and Junior High students rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on sheep brain lab—and yes, there was definitely a little “yuck!” mixed in with the curiosity. Some brave scientists leaned right in, while others weren’t quite so sure (just check out those faces!). Lots of great questions, careful observations, nervous laughs, and real learning

Wednesday gives us a window into Room 4, our toddler class at TMA. Friendship and early reading begin in gentle, meaningful ways in our Montessori toddler classroom. These shared moments nurture language, a love of reading, and the joy of learning alongside friends.

Tuesday is Room 3 day at TMA! Assistant Teacher Mrs. Fair guides a friend on how to use the buckle dressing frame. Part of the Practical Life curriculum in the Early Childhood classroom, dressing frames help children gain independence in care for themselves. Soon this child will be able to buckle her own shoes, belts, and coats independently. Small moments, big growth.

Our Lower Elementary students enjoyed an interactive presentation today as we marked the first day of Hanukkah. They participated in telling the Hanukkah story, played dreidle, learned Hebrew, and explored traditions like eating latkes, gelt, and sufganiyot. We are grateful to all our parent presenters who help bring the world into our classrooms and deepen our students' understanding of cultures, history, and community.

Some MPA elves were busy spreading holiday cheer to our teachers this week with our annual holiday gift wrapping. Staff brought in their gifts, and MPA volunteers wrapped them, taking one more thing off their to-do list during this hectic season. We love our TMA teachers!

Our Upper Elementary 6th year students spent Friday morning at St. Augustine’s Church in South Bend preparing Thanksgiving baskets for local families. The project gave students a meaningful opportunity to practice leadership, teamwork, and gratitude while supporting our wider community.
We’re grateful to St. Augustine’s for welcoming our UE students and for the important work they do in South Bend. A wonderful reminder that the spirit of Thanksgiving grows when we share it.

The upper elementary students have the community responsibility/engagement of collecting and bagging the recycling. They cover the ELA areas in UE and LE, the teachers’ lounge, office, science room, and EC building. They are also training the LE students on how to do this.
