TMA is a second home for your child and for you.
We welcome parents to campus as observers, volunteers, substitutes or simply friendly visitors. We are keenly aware that educating the whole child requires collaboration between home and school. We encourage active participation from parents, guardians, grandparents and anyone else with a vested interest in our students. Working through the Parent Teacher Organization, our volunteer community is vibrant and enriching, not only for our school but for the participants. By taking part in school activities and events, parents develop meaningful relationships with staff and with other families. A rich and caring community has been a hallmark of TMA since its beginning in 1969. Our emphasis on community reflects the strong partnership between family and school that is part of a Montessori education. We encourage all parents to volunteer. Parent volunteers serve a vital role in the success of our many school and community events. This is a way to share your talents and time, while providing a service that enhances our community. These are wonderful opportunities to better understand and support your child’s learning experience. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that emphasizes mutual respect among the faculty, staff, parents, and students. We believe this attitude allows children to feel safe, valued, and respected. |
Parent Communication
Ongoing communication between home and school is an important element in providing the most well-rounded education for your child. Teachers maintain a regular system of communication with parents:
If you would like to contact your child’s teacher, you may reach them directly through the staff directory or by contacting the front office. Because children’s safety is the focus at arrival and dismissal times, please refrain from engaging teachers with questions at this time. However, you are encouraged to contact your child’s teacher about scheduling an appointment.
You are welcome to email or leave a voicemail message during the day; teachers will respond in a timely manner after the class instructional period. If there is an urgent matter, our front office staff will help facilitate contact with the teacher.

“We want our children to be aware of the bigger world beyond our country and the surrounding oceans. In this global world brought together with information and technology, the most successful students will be the ones who can listen, learn, communicate, and relate to others. We don’t hide who we are, we celebrate who we are.”
